In Ajaccio, Icarus finally takes flight

They proved their detractors wrong, all those who said their project would never see the light of day. On Monday at the Fnac in Ajaccio, Jérémy Neyrou, president and co-founder of Icare Technologies, and his team launched Aeklys by Stark. A ring that is intended to replace keys, badges and other means of payment, with a modern and pure, almost futuristic design by Philippe Stark. After years of research and development, refinement and about thirty patents filed, Aeklys by Stark finally meets its public.
"We had launched a production of 2,000 units," counts Jérémy Neyrou. They are already sold out and we are re-launching another 2,000." In addition to these new and future users, the 100% French production ring is already adorning the index finger of just over 150 testers closely monitored by Icare Technologies. "We call them once a week to get their feedback in order to adapt to the uses," says Jérémy Neyrou. But Aeklys by Stark is also a jewel and it is a truly differentiating element, ostentatious. It's not just the functional side."This is nevertheless essential and is already being expanded (see opposite).
For Icare Technologies, whose investors include Smalt Capital of Marseilles and footballer Blaise Matuidi, is already looking to the future.Philippe Stark has designed more than 70 models of rings," continues the president of the Ajaccio-based company. We would like to launch the production of more feminine models for example. Because even if this model is unisex and therefore worn by women, it is quite massive." Until then, lovers of new technologies, early adopters and others can get their own "augmented humanity and freedom" ring at the Fnac in Ajaccio, but also online, on the Icare Technologie website in particular.
Currently, Aeklys by Stark is equipped with a bank payment, public transport, computer unlocking, business card and concierge function. In a few weeks, the "gym" function should be available and before the end of the year, the car management. Other uses are being developed or tested such as alarm, fuel, parking, tickets and boarding passes or home automation systems.
Aeklys by Stark can be deactivated at any time via an application. It is waterproof, does not need to be recharged and has a lifespan of five years.
